The palm grove, in the upper part of the Garden, near a pool of water, includes the species: Jubaea chilensis (Molina) Baill. (Chilean wine palm), Washingtonia filifera (Linden ex André) H. Wendl. ex de Bary (California palm), Chamaerops humilis L. (dwarf palm), Phoenix canariensis Chabaud (Canary Island date palm) and Phoenix dactylifera L. (date palm); this latter, although being particularly sensitive to low temperatures, is able to vegetate thanks to the heating of soil due to the hot underground aquifer.

The wine palm of Chilean origin (Jubaea chilensis (Molina) Baill.), which in nature grows at the foot of the Andean chain, is instead a cold-resistant species, and has a stem whose diameter can reach the highest values ever measured among the palms. Washingtonia filifera (Linden) Wendl., named after the first President of the United States, originating from California and Mexico, also adapts to areas with severe winters and short frosts.
